Your landscape - beautiful, functional, sustainable

Expert Landscaping Services

Our design/build staff has a distinguished and respected reputation for creating and installing architecturally functional and aesthetically pleasing landscapes for 60 years.  That experience combined with extensive horticultural knowledge lets us help you appreciate different perspectives on how to reach your landscape goals and meet your budget.  These new perspectives will set you and us apart from the rest.  Whether small, medium or large, we help you build your "special place".

MICHIGAN GROWN SHADE TREES:

It doesn't take long to list the values of shade trees in our yards.  The shade during the hot summer months makes us more comfortable and less cranky (thereby improving everyone's quality of life), and proper placement nearby the home can reduce our cooling costs and saving energy.  Plus, a tree's enormous capacity to remove tons of carbon dioxide from the the air improves our environment and helps all of us breathe easier.  Throw in a little fall color and a home for the birds, what's not to like!

ORNAMENTAL TREES:

ornamental flowering treesTrees in this category do so many things for us.  Besides some of the things already listed above, these trees give you periodic "surprises for your eyes" with their burst of spring color, their special fall fireworks, or unique shape.  Ornamental trees are certainly not one dimensional.

They grow in all sizes and profiles, short to tall, wide to thin, weeping or columnar. Flowering Cherry, Magnolia, improved disease-resistant Crabapple (with fruit that does not drop), Redbud and a multitude of other varieties that you never thought would grow in our area are yours to enjoy.

EVERGREENS:

From Pine and Spruce trees for windbreaks and screening to Weeping Alaskan evergreen gardenCedar and Dwarf Balsm Fir for that special effect, our range of evergreens goes miles beyond the basics.  From ornamental to functional, you'll be amazed at the heights, characters and color choices that our evergreens have to offer.  And, don't forget broadleaf evergreens like Boxwood and Azaleas.  Soon you will realize that evergreens are not just "bushes" anymore.

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS:

Other than perennials, this group includes the broadest range of plant choices on the garden and landscape menu.  Blooms come in all shapes, colors and forms.  Leaves can be tiny to large, feathery to fat, some that change color, not only in the fall, but even through the growing season.  Mass them together for a visual flowering shrubimpact from a distance or pick one for a special place of it's own.  Use them for medium height screening plantings or use them in a perennial border for color contrast.  The possible combinations are endless!

ROSES

Rose varieties have experienced a rebirth in garden popularity.  There are still the speical grafted hybirds that the rose enthusiasts can pamper until they get that "special bud".  But, the really big news is about the new hybird roses that are grown on their own root stock that make them super-hardy, extraordinarily disease resistant and abundant with flowers.  Now, anyone can grow beautiful roses successfully!

GROUND COVER AND VINES:

Combine these plant forms for utility and beauty. Groundcovers are groundcoversused to provide pleasing: carpeting effects" to accent under and around other plants or provide erosion resistance.  Vines can also be selectively used as groundcovers or to gracefully drape over the arbor that guards the garden walk.
